Every product sold by OTH is 100% genuine. We do not handle counterfeits, reproductions, proxies, or resealed items. If a product you receive cannot be confirmed as authentic, you can return it for a full refund. This page explains exactly how we keep what we sell genuine — and how you can verify it yourself.
Why our products are genuine
Our authenticity rests on four things you can check:
- Japanese distributor sourcing — we buy through trusted distributors inside Japan, close to the source.
- Our own warehouse in Osaka — real stock, held and dispatched by us, not drop-shipped from third parties.
- Sealed-product handling — products are kept factory-sealed and checked before dispatch.
- Authenticity guarantee — if it isn’t genuine, you return it and we refund you.
Sourced in Japan, close to the source
OTH is based in Japan and purchases its inventory through trusted domestic Japanese distributors. Sourcing within Japan keeps our supply chain short: there are fewer hands between the manufacturer and your order, which is one of the most effective ways to keep counterfeit and tampered stock out of the supply entirely.
For overseas buyers, this matters. Japanese trading card products are in high demand worldwide, and most counterfeit risk enters through long, opaque resale chains abroad. Buying from a Japan-based seller that sources domestically removes much of that risk before it can begin.
Real stock in our Osaka warehouse
We own and operate a warehouse in Osaka, Japan, where our inventory is physically held. When you order, the product ships from our own stock — we do not drop-ship or source on demand from unknown third parties after a sale.
Holding our own stock means we control how products are stored, handled, and dispatched. Sealed products are kept sealed, stored in appropriate conditions, and their outer condition is checked before they leave our facility.
Sealed boxes — and products without outer shrink wrap
We deal primarily in unopened, factory-sealed boxes. A portion of our stock is supplied without external plastic shrink wrap, and we want to be transparent about why, because it is a common source of confusion for buyers outside Japan.
Many authentic Japanese products are sealed at the box itself — for example with a manufacturer’s flap seal or sticker — rather than with the external plastic shrink wrap commonly seen on products made for other markets. In other words, the absence of outer shrink wrap is not a sign that a product has been opened or tampered with. It is simply how many genuine Japanese items are packaged and distributed.
- Where products are shrink-wrapped, we keep that wrap intact.
- Where products are sealed without outer shrink, we preserve the original factory seal on the box.
- We never open and reseal products, and we do not sell resealed items as new.

Verified by our buyer community
We run an open Discord community for our buyers. Customers regularly post arrival reports there — photos and notes when their orders are delivered — so you can see real, ongoing feedback from people who have received their products from us.

Our authenticity guarantee
We stand behind every product we sell. If an item you receive cannot be confirmed as authentic, you may return it to us for a full refund.
How it works:
- Contact us at authenticity@oth.jp within [refund window, e.g. 14 days] of delivery, with your order number and clear photos of the item and its packaging.
- We will review your case. If needed, we may ask for the item to be assessed by a recognised third party.
- If the item cannot be confirmed as authentic, you return it to us in its received condition, and we refund you in full. [Specify who covers return shipping in authenticity cases.]

How you can verify it yourself
We encourage buyers to check for themselves — it is the best way to build confidence, and we welcome it:
- Inspect the factory seal or shrink wrap on arrival, and compare it against known genuine examples for that product.
- Remember that genuine Japanese products are often sealed without external shrink wrap — check the box seal itself rather than expecting plastic wrap.
- Read arrival reports from other buyers in our Discord, or ask the community about the same product.
- If you still have any doubt, contact us — and if an item cannot be confirmed genuine, our guarantee applies.
Zero tolerance for counterfeits
We have a strict no-counterfeit policy. We do not knowingly buy, stock, or sell counterfeit, pirated, reproduction, or proxy products, and we respect the intellectual property and licensing rights of the original publishers. If you ever believe you have received a product that is not genuine, tell us immediately at authenticity@oth.jp so we can investigate and make it right.
